Birthing Services

Special Beginnings has two birthing rooms - the Rose and Bear rooms. Both have plenty of windows and hardwood floors. Both rooms also have bathroom facilities - commodes lavatories and corner tubs - making a water birth possible in either room. The Rose room has a more elegant feel, accented by a four-poster bed, while the Bear room has a quaint and homey feel, accented by a brass bed. Both rooms provide wonderful environments in which to give birth, but just which is right for you is a question only you can answer.

Regardless of the birthing room that you choose, you'll get the same great personal attention from Betty. She'll meet you at the center and stay with you throughout your labor and delivery. While laboring, you may do one of several things that you find helpful: sit (inside or outside), swing on the porch, go for a walk, relax in the whirlpool, or visit with friends and/or family. As the time of your delivery gets closer, you and Betty will be joined by a birth assistant. The three of you - along with any others that you choose - will then work together during the arrival of your newest family member.
